The latest Deadline Day transfer news in the Premier League and Championship as Wolves ‘beat’ Everton, Crystal Palace and AFC Bournemouth to a striker signing.

Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly closing in on the Deadline Day signing of Southampton striker Che Adams, beating three Premier League sides to his signature.

Gary O’Neil’s side are enjoying a late flurry of transfer activity with Enso González and Santiago Bueno already over the line for a combined £13.5 million, but they’re not done just yet.

The Old Gold have been keen to sign a new forward and Adams is set to be that man as the former Birmingham City ace has agreed to join Wolves on a season-long loan deal with an option to buy.

Everton, Crystal Palace and AFC Bournemouth have all been credited with an interest in the versatile attacker but his fate has seemingly already been sealed early doors on Deadline Day.

TEAMtalk reports Adams will join temporarily but Wanderers have the chance at the end of the campaign to sign him for £15 million. He has already travelled to the Black Country for a medical.

The 27-year-old, who has scored three goals in three Championship matches so far this season, has been the subject of long-standing interest from the recently relegated Leeds United.

Adams has scored 34 goals and contributed 15 assists in 149 appearances for Southampton. Before that, he netted 38 and assisted 13 in 123 games for Wolves’ local rivals, Birmingham.
