Wolves transfer 'being finalised' as former Sheffield Wednesday man departs for medical

The latest Premier League transfer news on Deadline Day as a medical is set to be completed ahead of a Wolves departure.

Wolverhampton Wanderers prospect Theo Corbeanu is closing in on a permanent transfer to Spanish La Liga side Granada following the end of his loan at Swiss club Grasshoppers.

The seven-time Canada international has been permitted to travel to Spain to complete medical tests before completing the formalities. Still just 21 years of age, Corbeanu has the potential to improve but he was never in the plans of Julen Lopetegui or Gary O'Neil for first-team involvement.

Signed from Toronto FC in August 2018, Corbeanu is set to gain Wolves a profit. It awaits to be seen just how much the winger will move to Granada for, but the funds will be welcomed at Molineux regardless as every little helps.

Corbeanu has made just one senior appearance for the Old Gold but he has played a total of 58 games at either the under-18 or under-21 levels. The versatile attacker has spent the last few years with half-season loans at Grasshoppers, Bielefeld, Blackpool, Sheffield Wednesday and MK Dons.
