Tottenham suffer big injury blow ahead of Wolves as key man confirmed out

Antonio Conte has delivered a team news update for Spurs ahead of Saturday’s lunch-time kick-off.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have been given a huge boost ahead of their trip to Tottenham Hotspur with Spurs manager Antonio Conte confirming that starting central defender Cristian Romero will miss the clash.

The Argentine picked up a knock in the 2-2 draw with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge and although he was able to finish the game, Conte admits that he won’t take any risks for the visit of Wolves.

“Cuti had a little problem during the game against Chelsea on Sunday,” the Tottenham boss told SPURSPLAY.

“He finished the game, but at the end he felt a bit of pain in his adductor, not a serious problem, but for this game it will be better for him to miss as a precaution.

“We are starting to play a lot of games, eight games in the next month, and to take a risk would be stupid, so he’s not available for this game.”

Better news for Spurs however is the return of Clement Lenglet.

The French international missed out entirely in the draw with Chelsea after suffering a muscle injury however he has returned to training this week and could come straight back into the fold in place of Romero.
