Tel-Aviv was Keane's third job of his managerial career, having had a stint as player-manager of Indian Super League team ATK. He would later go on to become assistant manager to Mick McCarthy with the Republic of Ireland national team, combining his role as assistant to Jonathan Woodgate to Middlesbrough. Keane would also return to Leeds United to work as a coach during Sam Allardyce's brief stint in charge, where he failed to prevent them from being relegated to the Championship.
The 146-time Republic of Ireland international has never worked with him but should he be successful in landing the role, there is one player that has experience of English football. Former Manchester United youngster Sean Goss is on the books of Asteras, having joined them on a free transfer from Motherwell 12 months ago.
They also have Hungarian striker Martin Adam on their books. The 29-year-old went viral during EURO 2024, and was dubbed the 'Hungarian Viking' by various media outlets.
