Wolverhampton Wanderers, West Ham United & Crystal Palace all have two players included in the Premier League’s best eleven outside of the ‘big six’ according to a supercomputer.
The supercomputer, that has been comprised by BetVictor, has produced what it believes is the best player in each position outside of those that play for the traditional big six.
All research that was compiled comes from this season alone and includes over 25 per 90-minute performance statistics.
Players were sorted and grouped by shared position and their statistical profiles were input into the ranking algorithm.
The algorithm is designed to find the player with the most optimised output per 90-minutes by calculating a Z-score (standard score) per performance statistic and average Z-score per player.
A high average Z-score indicates that a player is outperforming other players in that position across multiple statistics.
Some players included in the overall list were playing for different clubs prior to January and in that case, their statistics have been shaped using both teams they have suited up for in this campaign.
Whilst there are some standout players that make the cut and those that you possibly expect to be there, there are some that may come as a surprise.
It looks like the study has shaped up in a 4-2-1-3 formation if that matters for anybody and this is the eleven that have grabbed the honours.
