Premier League team of the week dominated by Wolves, Man Utd, Brighton, Leicester and Fulham - gallery

Here’s how the Premier League team of the week shapes up for the weekend of February 11-13 – as Wolves, Man Utd, Brighton, Leicester City and Fulham dominate.

It was goals galore in the Premier League over the weekend of February 11-13, with 27 netted in total across 10 matches. There were plenty of fresh twists and turns in various fights across the division, including races for the title, the European spots and getting away from the relegation zone.

West Midlands side Wolverhampton Wanderers earned a vital late win in a six-pointer clash at Southampton, soaring five points clear of the bottom three thanks to an own goal from Jan Bednarek and a late strike from winter signing Joao Gomes. Wolves were down to 10 men for much of the game but they had more fight in them than the Saints.

Elsewhere, Arsenal dropped points for a second week running as Brentford held the Gunners to a 1-1 draw at the Emirates Stadium, whereas Leicester City surprised Champions League hopefuls Tottenham Hotspur with a 4-1 thrashing at the King Power Stadium. Contributions from Kelechi Iheanacho, James Maddison, Harvey Barnes and Nampalys Mendy made it eight goals in the space of eight days for the Foxes.

Meanwhile, Manchester City closed the gap to the summit of the table with a comfortable 3-1 win over Aston Villa and Fulham continued their Europa League push, sweeping Nottingham Forest aside by two goals to nil. Manchester United charged on to beat Leeds United late on at Elland Road. There were also 1-1 draws across the board for West Ham, Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Brighton, Bournemouth and Newcastle.

So many players impressed this weekend just gone that it would be difficult to select just 11 players to form a team of the week but, rather thankfully, WhoScored’s ratings system makes things a lot easier. With that in mind, here are the best-performing stars based on WhoScored ratings. See below.
