Here’s how the Premier League team of the week shapes up for the weekend of March 4-5 – as Wolves, Liverpool, Chelsea and Brighton dominate WhoScored’s ratings.

Another thrilling weekend of action has now come to a close with some incredible results across England, proving the Premier League really is the gift that keeps on giving.

From Arsenal turning things around mightily late against AFC Bournemouth in a 3-2 victory, to Brighton & Hove Albion dispatching a bottom-three-threatened West Ham United side 4-0, it was a brilliant couple of days for home teams.

West Midlands sides Aston Villa and Wolverhampton Wanderers both enjoyed 1-0 wins to add some vital points on the board, whereas Manchester City beat Newcastle United by two goals to nil.

Meanwhile, Southampton managed a narrow 1-0 win over Leicester City to boost their survival hopes and Chelsea put an end to their awful run as they beat Leeds United, also 1-0. Nottingham Forest held fellow relegation battlers Everton to an exciting 2-2 draw.

No result was greater, however, than Liverpool’s remarkable 7-0 thrashing over bitter rivals Manchester United. Going into the break 1-0 up, nobody in the world could have possibly imagined six more to be added to the tally in the second half – but the floodgates well and truly opened.

So many players impressed this weekend just gone that it would be difficult to select just 11 to form a team of the week but, rather thankfully, WhoScored’s ratings system makes things a lot easier. With that in mind, here are the best-performing stars of the weekend based on WhoScored ratings. See below.
