New Goncalo Guedes role & defender dropped - Wolves predicted starting XI gallery vs Arsenal

Here’s how we predict Wolverhampton Wanderers to line up against Arsenal on Saturday - with a change of role for winger Goncalo Guedes.

Wolverhampton Wanderers are back in Premier League action on Saturday as they play host to Arsenal at Molineux. Steve Davis takes charge for the last time before the Julen Lopetegui era begins, as Wolves play their final match ahead of the World Cup.

Without a league win in four weeks and three points deep in the relegation zone, the Wanderers are struggling to say the least. There was a slight improvement last weekend with plenty more fight, but even then a defeat was suffered against Brighton & Hove Albion in a 3-2 thriller.

Nelson Semedo was sent off in that match, giving Wolves an almighty uphill battle against one of the most in-form sides in the league – no wonder the Seagulls ended up turning it around. Davis and his men were able to pick up a win midweek, though, as the Wanderers set Leeds United aside by one goal to nil in the Carabao Cup.

Midfielder Boubacar Traore scored a late winner to bring some joy to the Molineux faithful, sending Wolves through to the round of 16. Saturday’s opponents Arsenal meanwhile were dumped out of the competition by Brighton, as they lost 3-1 to Roberto De Zerbi’s side.

The Gunners are in top form in the Premier League, however, with a remarkable 11 wins in their opening 13 matches. They’ve claimed 34 points out of an available 39 – two more than champions Manchester City. It’s likely to be a tough challenge for Wolves, and with that in mind, here is how we think they will line up for the clash - in a 4-2-3-1 formation.
