Wolves have some transfer decisions to make this summer

Wolves are back in Premier League action this weekend with a home clash against Brighton and Hove Albion. They head to Selhurst Park on Tuesday 20th May to face Crystal Palace. The Midlands outfit then end the season with a fixture against Brentford at Molineux.

Vitor Pereira has done an impressive job since taking over. He was picked as their replacement for Gary O’Neil. The Portuguese boss has guided his team away from safety and he has adapted well to life in England.

Wolves latest regarding Fabio Silva future

According to Allez Lens, Lens owner Joseph Oughourlian ‘just wouldn’t’ pay the money needed to sign Fabio Silva this summer from Wolves. He is due to return to his parent club from Las Palmas. They have a big decision to make regarding his future.

Silva, 22, was snapped up by Wolves for a hefty £35 million price tag but he has struggled to make an impact. He has made 73 appearances in all competitions and has scored five goals. The forward has also been loaned out in the past to Anderlecht, PSV and Rangers. He is under contract until June 2026 meaning he has just over 12 months left.

He has been linked with a few different teams of late but it appears Lens will not be trying to sign him. La Provincia claimed last month that Villarreal, Atletico Madrid, Eintracht Frankfurt and Stuttgart are all keen. It remains to be seen right now where he could end up next.

Wolves latest as they prepare for next Premier League clash

Wolves were beaten 1-0 away at Manchester City last time out. Therefore, they will want to bounce back against Brighton with a positive result. They are already safe and have managed to pull away from the bottom three with ease.

Matt Doherty believes they should be proud of their efforts this term and has said: “I’ve said before how the energy in the players and the energy in the club, I know we’re still in the bottom half, we’re still 13th, but that’s not the point at the moment, the connection seems to be there, the energy is there, and the results are there.

“Obviously not against Man City, but the results have been there for the last six games. We’re not going to lose confidence because of Friday night, but we can understand that it was probably a game where, if we watch it back, we could have got something out of. But let’s just be happy with what we’ve done over the last second half of season.”

On the winning run coming to an end against City, he said: “We had the initial bounce off Vitor when he came in, but then we did lose four games in a row, before then losing the Liverpool and the Fulham games, so we did lose a few games in a row still, but he’s just kept the belief there which really kept us going.

“Different managers just bring different things, and he kept our heads up, we didn’t let them drop at all, and we managed to turn it around. We’ve obviously been able to turn it around in an unbelievable way over the last six or seven games, so we can be proud of what we’ve done during the second half of season.”
