Wolves midfielder Joao Gomes is being considered by Manchester United ahead of a possible move this summer.

The Red Devils are expected to be in the market for a midfielder when the transfer window opens. Gomes' compatriot Casemiro is expected to depart and he could be seen as a potential replacement.

Gomes has been watched by Man United scouts numerous times this season, with the most recent beating the 2-1 win against Fulham. The 23-year-old has only been at Molineux since January 2023 having joined for £12m from Flamengo but now they could make a healthy transfer profit should they wish to cash in on him.

Gomes has a valuation of around £40m according to the Daily Mirror, and so that would represent a £28m profit. He is expected to make his debut for Brazil this Saturday (March 23) when they play England at Wembley Stadium, and that could see his value increase. Newcastle United and Spurs are also said to hold an interest in him.

Thankfully this international break should be kind to Wolves. Brazil play Spain in a friendly on Tuesday, March 26 and that is taking place at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium. It means that Gomes won't need to travel as far as how some of his teammates have had to when returning from international duty.

In other news, Celtic are reportedly plotting a move for Hugo Bueno in the summer. The Scottish Premiership giants are managed by former Liverpool, Leicester City and Swansea City boss Brendan Rodgers and he has taken a liking to the defender.

The Glasgow-based side wanted to sign Bueno in the January transfer window but an approach was rebuffed. Celtic wanted to sign him on loan and the player was said to be open to a move according to TEAMtalk but Wolves blocked it.

He scored the second goal in the 3-2 defeat to Coventry City in the FA Cup quarter-final. Bueno has made 17 appearances this season with only five being starts.
