Wolves fought for a crucial point away from home on Saturday after bouncing back from Brighton and Hove Albion’s 2-0 lead. Gary O’Neil’s side looked to be headed for their eighth defeat of the season when Evan Ferguson double the Seagulls’ advantage in the 85th minute. However, two late goals from Rayan Aït-Nouri and Matheus Cunha snagged a huge comeback for the travelling Wolves.
The point is just their second of the season but it was enough to move them off the bottom of the table. Southampton now occupy the 20th spot, following their 1-0 defeat to Manchester City.

Hide AdSaturday produced some real edge-of-your-seat action, particularly at the Gtech Community Stadium as Brentford played out a 4-3 win over Ipswich Town, which also featured a red card for the Premier League new boys.
Wolves held on for a goalless first 45 minutes but a late goal from Danny Welbeck just before the break gave Brighton the advantage. The Seagulls held their 1-0 advantage for another 40 minutes, before Ferguson doubled the lead, with many believing the game was firmly out of Wolves’ reach.
However, Aït-Nouri responded three minutes later and Cunha fired home on the break in the third minute of stoppage time to salvage a hard-fought point. Wolves’ result will surely lift spirits following an otherwise nightmarish start to their season so far.
They now prepare for their next challenge on home soil. Crystal Palace will make the trip to Molineux next weekend in what will be another big fixture for the two sides, who are both struggling in the bottom half of the table.

Hide AdO’Neil admits ‘disappointment’
Following his side’s draw, O’Neil spoke to Sky Sports about the performance and admitted he felt disappointment in himself over his choice of tactics at the back.
“I'm a little bit disappointed with myself really that I started with a five [at the back]. I know we did well with a five against Manchester City and the lads deserved another go at it. But I didn't think a five would fit very well against Brighton today but at least we were quick enough to change it at half-time.
"At 85 minutes when Brighton scored their second goal I thought I was going to be stood here answering some more tough questions. The players have given an awful lot and if they keep doing that it cannot continue to go against you."
