Wolverhampton Wanderers take to the road on Friday evening as they face Europa League hopefuls Fulham in the Premier League at Craven Cottage. Playing six days after a painful 1-0 defeat to fellow relegation battlers AFC Bournemouth, Wolves will be eager to bounce back immediately with a positive result in the capital.
Julen Lopetegui’s side had been on a fine run of form before last weekend as they beat Liverpool 3-0 at home and then came back from behind to win 2-1 at Southampton despite going down to 10 men in the first half. It all went downhill against the Cherries, however, even despite another good performance.

Hide AdWanderers had 69% possession and got 15 shots away but Marcus Tavernier’s strike was ultimately enough to hand the visitors the all-important three points. Lopetegui will be wary that a similar approach could well fail against Fulham, too, as the Cottagers sat back to absorb Brighton’s pressure last weekend and ended up 1-0 victors.
They only had two shots on target throughout the entire fixture, whereas the Seagulls had seven. It was Manor Solomon who was able to break the deadlock, however, as Fulham scored in the 88th minute to firm up their grip on the top six. Marco Silva’s side will be full of confidence to try the same again on Friday evening.
What is the injury news ahead of Fulham vs Wolves?
The hosts could well have to make do without star striker Aleksandar Mitrovic as the Serbian is still recovering from a hamstring injury. “We have to see, the next few days will be important to assess him and see if he is available or not,” Silva said after the Brighton game. “It looks like a minor injury [but] I don’t know if he will be ready for the next game.”
Winger Neeskens Kebano suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon in November and he is expected to miss the rest of the season, whereas midfielder Tom Cairney is ruled out until the end of this month with an ankle problem sustained in the FA Cup fourth round win at Sunderland.

Hide AdWolves will welcome former Fulham man Mario Lemina back following his one-match suspension - adding some extra energy in midfield - but Lopetegui still faces four long-term absentees. Sasa Kalajdzic is out with his anterior cruciate ligament injury, while Chiquinho (knee) is set to come back in April.
Boubacar Traore has undergone surgery and it will be a number of weeks before he returns to competitive action. Energetic winger Hwang Hee-chan is about two or three weeks away as he is recovering from a thigh problem. Other than that, Wanderers have a clean bill of health.
Ruled out: Kebano, Cairney (FUL); Kalajdzic, Chiquinho, B. Traore, Hwang (WOL).
Doubts: Mitrovic (FUL).
