Former Wolves and West Brom star set to land Premier League coaching job with sacking imminent

A former West Brom and Wolves star looks set to land a new coaching job in the Premier League.

A former West Brom and Wolves star looks set to land a new job amid an expected change of manager in the Premier League. Sheffield United are set to replace fan favourite Paul Heckingbottom after a hugely disappointing start to the season.

The Blades put together a horror-show of a transfer window in the summer, selling key players, failing to replace them and largely failing to strengthen after securing promotion back to the Premier League. They are now paying the price, sitting bottom of the Premier League and with just five points after a five-goal defeat to relegation rivals Burnley over the weekend.

Heckingbottom now looks set to be let go, and former boss - and indeed another fan favourite - Chris Wilder looks set to return to the club after three years away. Wilder previously led the Blades to the Premier League.

According to the Sheffield Star, former Baggies and Wolves star Keith Andrews looks set to join Wilder's coaching staff in the Steel City. Andrews was most recently part of Stephen Kenny's coaching staff in the Republic of Ireland setup. The 43-year-old hung up his boots as a player in 2015, representing Wolves between 1999 and 2005, going on to play for West Brom in 2012.

Wilder will get an 18-month contract, according to the same report, and he will appoint assistants Alan Knill and Matt Prestridge, who worked with him previously at Bramall Lane. Andrews will also form part of that coaching crew, continuing to grow his young coaching career.
