Fabio Silva put in a performance well above his years as Wolverhampton Wanderers beat Aston Villa 2-1 to claim the West Midlands bragging rights on Saturday afternoon.
Jonny bagged the opener with a well taken strike after just seven minutes before Villa substitute Ashley Young headed into his own net before the break.
Ollie Watkins made for a nervy finish when he slotted home a contentious penalty but Wolves held on for a well deserved three points.
Any number of the Wanderers players could have been awarded man-of-the-match after a dominant display and whilst 2-1 didn’t flatter the home side, it’s a result they’d have taken before a ball was kicked.
