Uncertainty began to grow around the future of the Portuguese international when his contract expired on June 30 but both sides have since been able to reach an agreement on a contract that will see him remain with Wolves until the end of the 2022/23 season.

Moutinho, 35, has become an ever-present in the heart of the gold and black’s midfield, aging like a fine wine during his time at Molineux.

He’s raked up a massive 176 appearances for the club during his four-year stay, scoring five times and providing 23 assists.

Moutinho becomes the second addition of the summer for Wolves, joining Hwang Hee-chan who officially joined on a permanent deal following his successful loan spell from RB Leipzig.
