Chelsea are ‘considering’ a move for Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Max Kilman as they look to replace both Rudiger and Christensen who are out of contract in the summer.

That’s according to Talksport who claim the Blues have begun their hunt for reinforcements early due to the possibility of losing both the German and Danish international duo on free transfers.

Kilman, 24, has become an unexpected hero for Wolves so far in this campaign.

Injuries forced him to be in the eleven possibly more than he otherwise would have been but his performances since have more than warranted the badge of a starter.

The centre-back has started every Premier League game, helping his side to their phenomenal defensive record of just 18 goals conceded - only bettered by the league leaders Manchester City with 17.

“Kilman for England” has become a regular chant around Molineux this season and whilst the former Maidenhead United defender has been capped by the England futsal team, the England national football team is an honour, that has up to now at least, escaped him.

With that in mind, a move to Stamford Bridge could certainly help with his ambitions to reach that goal and add to that the fact he’s a boyhood Blues fan and it’s a transfer that certainly does sound like it has legs.

The 24-year-old is contracted at Wolves until the summer of 2026 so if Chelsea are going to try their luck in the summer - you’d expect or at least hope for it to take a monstrous bid for the popular defender to be prized away.
