“Me and Jeff [Shi] we talk every day and the most important thing is we have a plan.

“Me as a manager, I understand very well the moment and the economical moment of the club.

“When I talk that I need players, they know that I need them, they know the plan.

“I’m not making pressure (on the board) and people can’t use my words to attack every one.

“We are here, working as a team, we have one plan.

“I have three years contract and I have a promise to the fans - we will create the team that they are dreaming.

“And the team is there. We have a lot of players, quality players for January.

“We are waiting for Pedro Neto, Jonny, [Bruno] Jordao is with us, I am waiting for Yerson.

“This is the most important thing, we are working inside our building as a team. Together.

“We don’t have any problems, we work every day, we talk every day with my boss Jeff and with my sporting director Scott [Sellars].”

Whilst the pessimist among us may read into his comments negatively in regards to this January transfer window, there was no faking the positivity that was radiating off of Lage.

Does he know something we don’t? Only time will tell.
