Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Bruno Lage provided an update surrounding the injured trio of Jonny Otto, Pedro Neto and Bruno Jordao ahead of Saturday’s clash with Premier League new boys, Brentford.

All three are yet to play any part in the 2021/22 campaign due to their respective long-term injuries and Lage believes it may be a while yet before we see any back on the Molineux turf.

“We need time for them,” he said.

“They are not ready, they need more time to prepare themselves.

“Especially with Jonny. Jonny will come when he’s more fit and so we need time and to be patient with them.”

It was revealed recently that Neto had suffered a set-back on his road to recovery but without going into too much detail, the manager seemed optimistic that it was nothing major and it hasn’t really affected his overall time-frame.

“Neto is the same,” Lage added.

“The beginning was to start training in the middle of October so we need to put a couple of weeks.

“I don’t know, four or five weeks or four weeks he start training and then maybe six weeks for him to start training with the team.

“I don’t want to put pressure on the players, I don’t want to put pressure on the medical departments because I don’t want the same thing to happen again with what happened with Jonny and Pedro.

“When they are fit, I will be happy for them to be here and receive them because we need more bodies to put more pressure on the team.”
