Wolverhampton Wanderers head out on the road on Saturday to take on Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League. Wolves will be eager to build on their positive form with another strong showing and could take advantage of a fatigued Seagulls outfit at the Amex Stadium.

Julen Lopetegui’s side have not only had a day longer to prepare for the clash, but the injury news situation is well in their favour too. Just three players are sidelined this weekend and one could actually feature depending on a late assessment.

Sasa Kalajdzic and Chiquinho are ruled out and they won’t make a matchday squad for the rest of the season due to long-term issues. Midfielder Boubacar Traore, meanwhile, is still a big doubt due to a lack of match fitness following an array of minor injuries.

Brighton, on the other hand, are having to push their squad to the limit with a number of key players unavailable. Experienced midfielder Adam Lallana remains sidelined with a thigh injury with a return outlined for a few weeks’ time, whereas speedy right-back Tariq Lamptey is ruled out for the season with a knee issue.

Tricky winger Jeremy Sarmiento is racing to be fit for the end of the campaign due to an ankle problem, while Jakub Moder is finally nearing a return from his ACL injury. The Poland international won’t be ready for the weekend but has been back in training this week.

18-year-old Evan Ferguson has been a revelation for Brighton this season and could be fit for Saturday.18-year-old Evan Ferguson has been a revelation for Brighton this season and could be fit for Saturday.

It’s not all doom and gloom for Albion, though, as Roberto De Zerbi could be boosted by the return of wonderkid striker Evan Ferguson (ankle) and versatile defender Joel Veltman (hamstring). Veltman was on the bench at Nottingham Forest but is lacking fitness. The Italian head coach said on Wednesday he’s hopeful they’ll both be back.

Ruled out: Lallana, Lamptey, Sarmiento, Moder (BHA); Kalajdzic, Chiquinho (WOL).

Doubts: Ferguson, Veltman (BHA); B. Traore (WOL).
