Wolverhampton Wanderers travel to the capital on Saturday afternoon as they take on Brentford in the Premier League. The Wanderers will be hoping to respond after losing four of their last five matches.

Currently in the bottom three and two points from safety, Steve Davis’ side have made a dismal start to the campaign. Confidence is low and it shows, with just five goals scored in the opening 12 matches - by far a league low.

Only Nottingham Forest are worse off at this stage, but even they have netted more with eight. It is a good opportunity for Wolves to perhaps move off the foot of the table this weekend, however, with teams in and around them facing tough fixtures.

Leicester host Manchester City, Leeds head to Liverpool, and Nottingham Forest take on Arsenal. If the Wanderers can pick up all three points, things could look far better at the end of the weekend. But in order to do so a much better performance is a necessity, with Brentford not exactly being pushovers.

The Bees have been a real surprise package since they were promoted to the Premier League and are currently enjoying a second successive campaign in the top flight. Thomas Frank and his men will likely look at the fixture as a good opportunity to further build on their strong start.

Without further ado, here is the latest confirmed team news ahead of Brentford vs Wolves, including updates on an array of key players for both sides.

Brentford will be without key man Christian Norgaard as the game comes too soon for the Dane. The midfielder has been out since August with an Achilles’ tendon problem but could be back for next week’s clash with Nottingham Forest.

Tricky winger Keane Lewis-Potter is back and available for selection, as is defender Ben Mee who was an unused substitute in the Bees’ 4-0 defeat at Aston Villa. Otherwise, Frank has a fully fit squad to select from.

Diego Costa is a doubt for the Wanderers after picking up a knock against Leicester, but Davis is hopeful the Brazilian will be fine to play. Supporters will be hoping he is - as other striking options Raul Jimenez and Sasa Kalajdzic both remain sidelined.

The latter is still out with a long-term ACL problem, whereas Jimenez could be back after the World Cup. The Mexican, who has been in his home country recuperating from a groin issue, is expected to travel back on Friday. Davis is hopeful he will feature on international duty and then return fit and ready for Premier League action.
