Birmingham City fans are taking to social media to express their frustration at the ongoing takeover of the club.

The protracted takeover, headed by Paul Richardson and former Barcelona and Milan forward Maxi Lopez, has gone on for several weeks since the consortium were granted exclusivity to complete the deal.

With Richardson telling Sky Sports on July 19 that he hoped to complete the deal within three weeks, there has been little update on any progress of the takeover since, and it is unclear what is currently holding up the deal.

The deal is for Richardson and Lopez’s consortium to take over the 21.6% stake in the club from Orential Rainbow, before completing the purchase of the 75% stake Birmingham Sports Holdings currently owns within three years.

With the deal seemingly making little progress though, Blues fans have taken to social media to express their frustrations with the situation.

With the picture no clearer behind the scenes at St. Andrews, and the club struggling on the pitch, it could be yet another long season for the Blues faithful as they aim to maintain their Championship status for another season.
