Wolves reportedly saw an official offer rejected by Udinese for central defender Thomas Kristensen on deadline day.
Vitor Pereira, eager to strengthen in defence, has been assessing his options throughout the final few days of the winter window. Emmanuel Agbadou’s £16.6 million arrival from Stade Reims has been a great success so far but Pereira demanded more centre-half reinforcements.

Hide AdAustrian international Kevin Danso was booked in for a medical temporarily over the weekend but Tottenham Hotspur swooped in late to hijack the deal. Wolves were angered by that saga but soon put it behind them, targeting alternative candidates before the 11pm February 3 deadline.
The Daily Mail reports Kristensen was one of these targets and Wolves are said to have had a £12.5 million bid rejected on Monday afternoon. The 23-year-old, who has earned rave reviews for his performances in Serie A, has been linked to fellow Premier League team Nottingham Forest with a report from On The Minute crediting Nuno Espirito Santo’s side with an interest.
Birmingham World understands an attempt was also made to bring in former captain Conor Coady from Leicester City in what would have been a straight swap for Craig Dawson. The talks were only very brief, however, and never materialised – much to the disappointment of many Wolves supporters excited by the proposition.
Wolves closing in on two eleventh-hour signings
Despite failing with attempts to sign Danso, Coady and Kristensen, Wolves are expected to announce the addition of Red Star Belgrade centre-back Nasser Djiga instead. Birmingham World understands Djiga has passed a medical ahead of a £10 million move to Molineux.

Djiga, a 22-year-old standing at 6ft 3in, promises to be a superb addition as he has emerged as one of the best players in the Serbian top flight.
Another new face expected to be arrive through the doors at Molineux on deadline day is Stade Reims midfielder Marshall Munetsi. Reports first emerged this morning that Wolves were in advanced talks to sign the Zimbabwean from the French Ligue 1 club and a breakthrough has been reached.
Birmingham World understands a fee in the region of €20 million (£17m) has been agreed with Reims, similar to what Wolves paid the same club for Agbadou earlier this month. Munetsi, who has played 23 times for the Zimbabwe national team throughout his career, is in his prime at the age of 28.
Just like Djiga, Munetsi has passed his medical tests in Paris. Both players are expected to be unveiled as new Wolves players imminently with the Old Gold understood to have been preparing announcements throughout the evening.
In other news, two Wolves youngsters have completed loan moves to League One – one of whom could directly influence Birmingham City’s chances of promotion back to the Championship this term.
