Wolverhampton Wanderers are 20th in the Premier League standings as the World Cup plays out in Qatar and they are four points deep into the relegation zone.
It has been a woeful season, to say the least, and new manager Julen Lopetegui will have quite the challenge to get Wolves up and out of the bottom three.
In order to get closer to the club’s aims, Lopetegui is likely to dip his toes into the transfer market this January, and he may also say farewell to a few players as he looks to implement his own playing style.
Having taken over at Molineux in mid-November, the Spaniard has now had a few weeks to assess the current crop and he is likely getting closer to deciding which positions need improving.
As is the nature of bringing in fresh faces, some individuals will have to depart to make way. With that in mind, here are the 10 players who are the likeliest to depart Wolves in the January transfer window.

5. Adama Traore
Although Lopetegui has made it public he is keen for Adama to stay at Molineux, the player may be tempted to depart with Leeds United and Tottenham Hotspur interested. | Getty Images

6. Toti Gomes
Very far down the pecking order for Wolves at centre back, and that’s even the case with the poor form this term. Gomes could easily depart having played just three senior games all season. | Getty Images

7. Nelson Semedo
There has been some interest in Semedo from Chelsea as a potential backup option at Stamford Bridge. There haven’t been many updates recently, but if the Blues do act on their intrigue, it may be tough to keep him. | Getty Images

8. Joe Hodge
Another young player who may be considered for a loan move, 20-year-old Hodge has appeared in four senior games this season. He could go out to a lower down EFL club for experience. | Getty Images
