Wolves in advanced transfer talks as £19.8m deal emerges

Wolves are said to be in advanced transfer talks to sign a brother of one of their first-team players. The January transfer window is open and now Gary O'Neil is eyeing reinforcements to bolster his squad for the second-half of the season.

One player who has been strongly linked is Noah Lemina - the brother of star midfielder Mario. He is currently contracted to PSG and is out on loan at Sampdoria, but could be recalled and loaned to the Molineux club.

Mario is Noha's senior brother by 12-years and is just at the start of his footballing career. Respected French football paper L'Equipe says that Lemina's loan at Sampdoria isn't going to plan, and now talks are underway for him to head elsewhere. Negotiations are said to be 'open' and talkSPORT say that they are at an advanced stage ahead of a possible move.

Noha Lemina - an attacking midfielder - has played just once in Serie B with Sampdoria and has instead featured in the Campionat Primavera - the under-19's league. He had a 15-minute cameo against Venezia in August and was named twice as an unused substitute in the following two games after that but has not featured for the senior squad in the league since then. The Gabon-born midfielder has seven caps for France's under-17s team and for PSG he has 12 goals and five assists in 36 games.

If a move to Wolves was to take place then it is expected he would link up with their Premier League 2 team rather than join their first-team. A move to Wolves could help towards Mario remaining at the club in the long-term. Mario Lemina is under contract until 2025, and this season has cemented himself as one of the leading players in O'Neil's side.

In other news, Wolves are said to be interested in signing Said Benrahma from Premier League rivals West Ham. French outlet Foot Mercato says that Benrahma is a wanted man this transfer window, and that the Hammers are open to selling him. Lyon are said to have made an offer, and have already drawn up a contract offer, despite no bid being accepted. Wolves are interested, but so are Fulham and it will take a reported €23m to take him away from the Olympic Stadium, which is roughly £19.8m.

The 28-year-old has made 21 appearances in all competitions for West Ham but has registered just one goal contribution. He has been limited to just five starts and eight of his appearances in the league have come off the bench. The 21-time Algeria international was not called up to this month's Africa Cup of Nations, and that would be a boost to any club that wants to immediately sign him.
