Gary O’Neil will be keen to add depth and quality to his squad ahead of next season’s opener against Arsenal, with Wolves eager to start the new term strongly in the view to challenge for the Premier League top half.
Last campaign was a mixed one as Wanderers finished 14th but enjoyed an excellent spell of form in January and February. Had it not been for injuries and some dreadful VAR calls, the Old Gold could’ve challenged for the top 10 or even the European spots.
Wolves, who have already completed four signings, will be keen to add yet more fresh faces to the squad. Speculation is rife and plenty of reports have accuracy to them, so how could O’Neil’s men line up if the rumours do indeed prove true?
Only including the most credible links and taking into account current injuries, here’s the starting XI Wolves could name away at Arsenal on the opening day.

5. CB: Toti Gomes
Toti enjoyed quite the breakout season in 2023/24, featuring in 35 of the 38 Premier League matches. Now 25 years of age, he should continue his progression into the new campaign. | Wolves via Getty Images

6. LWB: Rayan Ait-Nouri
The Algerian has gained transfer interest from a whole host of clubs but should stick around as he’s flourished under O’Neil. One of the key players in the squad, he should start every game. | Wolves via Getty Images

7. CM: Mario Lemina
Lemina was one of the stars of the show last term and he’s a candidate to replace Kilman as Wolves’ captain. Not many players provide more energy than the Gabonese. | Wolves via Getty Images

8. CM: Joao Gomes
Still just 23, Gomes has become a regular starter and still has so much room for improvement. Another big season awaits to move closer to his potential. | Wolves via Getty Images
