Gary O’Neil will be keen to add depth and quality to his squad ahead of next season’s opener against Arsenal, with Wolves eager to start the new term strongly in the view to challenge for the Premier League top half.
Last campaign was a mixed one as Wanderers finished 14th but enjoyed an excellent spell of form in January and February. Had it not been for injuries and some dreadful VAR calls, the Old Gold could’ve challenged for the top 10 or even the European spots.
Wolves, who have already completed four signings, will be keen to add yet more fresh faces to the squad. Speculation is rife and plenty of reports have accuracy to them, so how could O’Neil’s men line up if the rumours do indeed prove true?
Only including the most credible links and taking into account current injuries, here’s the starting XI Wolves could name away at Arsenal on the opening day.

1. GK: Kasper Schmeichel (rumoured signing)

2. RWB: Nelson Semedo
Consistent and powerful at both ends of the field, Semedo displayed excellent form under O’Neil last season. New signing Rodrigo Gomes will likely be an impact substitute to start with. | Getty Images

3. CB: Nico Elvedi (rumoured signing)

4. CB: Yerson Mosquera (loan returnee)
Mosquera spent the second half of last season on loan at Villarreal and impressed, making 16 appearances in La Liga. The Colombian could play a key role in a new-look defence. | Getty Images
