Back to black! Wolves reveal stunning third kit
Out of darkness cometh Wolves new look
Wolves have unveiled a stunning black kit.
The new strip - which will be the club’s third kit for the current season - goes on sale on Friday morning.

It follows the clubs motto of ‘Out of darkness cometh light’ which has given the inspiration to the club’s anniversary year celebrations as well as their kit designs.
The black kit follows the return to a more traditional old gold colour for their home kit and a white away kit. Together with the new black third kit, they are said to reflect the club’s ‘alchemy’ of turning base metals into gold.
Wolverhampton’s coat of arms is woven into the black fabric.

Club historian Peter Crump said: “Two years ago, when we started talk of our 150 anniversary, we felt the two change shirts should be white and black, this also appeared to be the sentiment of the fans too. I’m pleased to see the final shirt for this season, I really like the simplicity and tidiness of the shirt but also the pattern is in the background like the home shirt too, which is a nod to Wolverhampton.
“It was the most sensible and appropriate colour to pick for our third shirt. Our first black away shirt arrived in 2003 but for a long time they were not allowed due to black being reserved for officials. Since then, we have had quite a few and they have always been well received.
“I think it’s another excellent shirt and an ideal addition to the 150-shirt collection. Once again, our supporters were involved in the consultations with the Wolves Museum and they have played their part in all of our shirts in a big way.”
The kit goes on sale at 9am online and 10am at the club store.
