Wolverhampton Wanderers are thought to be in contention to sign 24-year old Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek next month.
The former Ajax man has made just 12 appearances for the Red Devils this season with just seven of those coming in the Premier League and all from the bench.
Signed from the Eredivise champions for £35m million in the summer of 2020, van de Beek played just over and hour of Premier League football under former United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjær before the Norwegian’s departure last month.
Although he found more regular minutes after Solskjær left, recent reports have suggested that Ralf Rangnick has not been impressed and wants to recruit a new holding midfielder next month.
Whether or not United will look to offload the 19-times capped Netherlands international is unclear but there are likely to be a long list of potential suitors should he become available.
SkyBet have priced Everton and Wolves as joint favourites to sign van de Beek but only at 6/1, suggesting a deal is still quite far off.
Newcastle United are also in the market, just beund at 7/1, while Serie A pair Juventus and Inter Milan are 8/1.
The Dutchman’s former club Ajax, along with Premier League sides Tottenham Hotspur and Leeds United all make up the rest of the market at 16/1.
Wolves do not feature heavy across the bookies betting markets, but are still being tipped to secure a deal for Portugal international Renato Sanches.
Priced at a much more favourable 9/4, and with only Liverpool (5/1) thought to be competing with them, the former Swansea City man could very well make his long rumoured move to Molineux next month.
Sanches, 24, is currently with French Ligue 1 champions LOSC Lille and has won 24 caps for the Portuguese men’s international side.
Are Aston Villa setting their sights on England international defender?
Aston Villa Aston have made an offer for Liverpool and England defender Joe Gomez, according to a report.
The 24-year old, who has won 11 caps for the England men’s international side, has made just nine appearances for the Reds this season with only three of those coming in the Premier League.
All of those three appearances have come as a substitute with two of them in the 89th minute, against Burnley (August 21) and Tottenham Hotspur (December 12).
Gomez began his career with Charlton Athletic in 2014, making 21 appearances in the Championship during the 2015-15 season, before moving to Anfield 2015 and has made 118 appearances across all competitions.
The Premier League and Champions League winner has represent England at Under 16, Under 17, Under 9, Under 21 and senior level and was part of the England side who won the UEFA European Under-17 Championship in 2014.
Although both Gomez and Villa manger Steven Gerrard have both spent the majority of their playing careers with Liverpool, the two never shared a pitch with Gomez signing for the Reds the season after Gerrard left to join MLS side LA Galaxy.
