Everything you need to know ahead of the Carabao Cup fourth round draw.

It may only be September, but the Carabao Cup is already reaching a pivotal stage, with the third round nearly over and the last 16 now within reach.

Renowned as one of England’s most unpredictable cup competitions, the Carabao Cup has provided some excellent drama so far. League Two side Grimsby Town have been the surprise package up to this point, knocking out Manchester United and Sheffield Wednesday to reach the fourth round.

Plenty of other teams will be eager to steal the limelight from the Mariners and there are many opportunities for that. Huddersfield Town, Bradford City, Doncaster Rovers and Port Vale all take on Premier League teams, so they could soon ‘do a Grimsby’ themselves.

Wolverhampton Wanderers are the only side from the West Midlands still in the competition, so they have a point of their own to prove. The Old Gold’s 3-2 victory over West Ham United in round two was their first win of the season so far. They are now through to the final 16 after seeing off Everton last time out 2-0 at Molineux after goals by Marshall Munetsi and Tolu Arokodare.

When is the Carabao Cup fourth round draw?

The first few third round matches took place last week as Grimsby, Brentford, Crystal Palace and Swansea City progressed, but it made more sense for the draw to take place this week – when the rest of the fixtures are fulfilled. As is often the case, the draw has been lined up for the end of the final game in this round.

On this occasion, the final game is Port Vale vs Arsenal, so the draw will be conducted at Vale Park at around 10.15pm on Wednesday, September 24. That start time could be delayed if the encounter between the League One outfit and the Gunners ends in a draw and goes to penalties. Likewise, it could be pushed back if there are any interruptions during the game.

Is the draw on TV and live stream?

The draw will be aired live on television in the UK, and it will also be available to live stream. Fans can tune in on Sky Sports Main Event, Sky Sports Football and Sky Sports News, whereas subscribers can also watch on the Sky Go app.

For those without a Sky subscription, the draw can also be viewed live on the Sky Sports Football YouTube channel. It’s also typically broadcast on Sky Sports’ social media channels for free. An alternative is to buy a NOW TV day pass.
