'Mental' - Jayson Molumby's verdict on next challenge in Championship dogfight with high-flyers in town

Albion welcome an automatic promotion-hunter to The Hawthorns under the lights on Friday night for the next battle in the survival bid.

Jayson Molumby is confident Albion can turn the table on high-flying Millwall on Friday and secure more crucial points in the survival push.

Battling midfielder Molumby was captain on both occasions as James Morrison’s made it six games unbeaten in the scramble for Championship safety over the Easter weekend.

Albion face a stern test at The Hawthorns against one of three sides level on points in the automatic promotion hunt, but Molumby, 26, is confident his side can take a step closer to safety.

“It won’t be easy,” Molumby said of Millwall. “They're flying. They've had a great season.

“So it's going to be a difficult game, but I think you've seen in this league - it's absolutely mental.

“It doesn't matter who you play. Anyone can beat anyone, especially at home now.

“At home, we feel strong. And like I said, with the backing of the fans, we can definitely pick up some more points on Friday.”

Molumby has filled in for captain responsibility for the injured Jed Wallace after the in-form winger was ruled out last week with a calf problem.

Republic of Ireland international Molumby has worn the armband before but insists the role is not lost on him.

“West Brom's a massive club,” he added. “I'm really proud.

“I've been here for four-and-a-half, five years. I love the club. I love the staff and the players in there and the people that I've met through playing for this club.

“It’s a massive honour for me. I try to give a good representation of the club, myself and the players that I'm leading out.”
