Out of work former West Brom manager pictured at National League North game

Just a matter of weeks ago some Albion fans were touting him for a return to The Hawthorns to rescue the Baggies.

A few weeks on and former West Brom hero Darren Moore was in the stands at a Shropshire non-league ground - taking in some bank holiday football action.

The former Baggies defender, most famous for scoring the goal that took Albion to the Premier League in 2002 - has been out of work since a departure from Port Vale earlier this season.

He has been linked with various EFL jobs including Rotherham United - but he was in Shropshire on Monday to watch AFC Telford United’s clash with Kidderminster Harriers in the National League North.

A 2-1 win for the visitors meant the Bucks’ hopes of a play-off push are all but over.

And he was pictured Sean Parrish, currently Shrewsbury Town first team coach and cousin of Wolves boss Rob Edwards.

Moore finds himself out of work less than 12 months from leading Port Vale to League Two promotion.

And it is almost eight years since he was thrust into the managerial spotlight - becoming Albion’s third manager of the season as they were staring relegation from the Premier League in the face.

He masterminded a win over Manchester United among other results - and almost kept Albion up.

He landed the job and had Albion fourth before he was axed by the club.

Moore went on to manage Doncaster before taking the Sheffield Wednesday job and completing a sensational play-off semi-final comeback before leading them to promotion.

A poor spell at Huddersfield followed - before he had exactly 100 games in charge of Vale.
