The attacking favourite shone in Sunday’s home opener at The Hawthorns and now Albion’s head coach has demanded more.

Two-goal Albion hero Isaac Price has been challenged to make it double-figures this season.

Left-sided attacker Price fired a brace to help his side extend a winning start to the campaign with an impressive 3-1 success over Burnley at The Hawthorns.

Boss James Morrison wants to see the Northern Ireland international star match his haul of nine goals from last season or go better still this time around.

Price put the Baggies in a great position shortly after half-time against the Clarets with a wonderful dipping strike from range. He netted the third from the penalty spot.

"That's his finish, isn't it?” Morrison said of Price’s key first goal, one to add to his collection of Albion strikes from range.

"For him it's just being consistent with it really.

"Obviously he got nine goals last season, can he do it again?

"But I think you can all see his qualities and the effort he gives to the team. So I'm really pleased for him.”

Price, 22, is in his second full season at The Hawthorns and is considered one of the side’s most influential players. He had a mixed season last term but still managed nine goals, one shy of top scorer Aune Heggebo.

He could have had more from an increasingly-familiar left-sided role against Burnley. The former Everton youngster was unable to truly stretch Max Weiss with three strikes from promising positions.

Morrison added: "It was so warm, the pitch was dry and the passes that were coming to him weren't really clean.

"But he's in those positions and the position he's got now in the team suits him to arrive in the box because he can finish."

The Baggies park Championship business for the next few days as they return to EFL Cup action with a second round clash at Premier League Newcastle.

Morrison’s men face a quickfire north-east double with around 62 hours separating the St James’ Park tie and Saturday lunchtime’s league clash at Middlesbrough.
