One player that departed the Hawthorns this summer has made an interesting move.

Midfielder Yann M'Vila has found a new club after his summer transfer exit from West Brom.

The 34-year-old was one of several experienced players that didn't have their contract renewed at the end of last season. M'Vila who joined on a short-term contract in mid-February, has joined French side Caen on a two-year deal.

Caen play in the second tier of French football, and are owned by Coalition Capital, which is a subsidiary of Interconnected Venues, a company owned by Real Madrid and France star Kylian Mbappe. They finished sixth in Ligue 2 last season, and are hoping to get back to the top tier after spending five seasons outside of Ligue 1.

During his time at the Hawthorns, M'Vila made nine appearances for the Baggies, but wouldn't make his debut until a month after he signed. He made just three starts and his first one didn't come until mid-April. The French midfielder capped 22 times for the France national team did play a part in both of their Championship play-off legs however.

The other clubs in his career include Stade Rennais, where he played the majority of his club football with 150 appearances. He also played a lot for Olympiacos, featuring for them 140 times, and then both Saint-Etienne and Rubin Kazan, playing for them a combined amount of 171 games.

M’Vila can also count Inter Milan as one of his former clubs, having played 14 times for the Italian giants. Before joining West Brom, M'Vila had already played in England for Sunderland, and was with the Black Cats for the 2015/16 Premier League season.
