West Brom are back in Championship action on Friday evening and are tasked with making it successive wins for the first time in 2022.

The 2-0 victory over Hull City last time out marked just the second time the Albion have picked up three points since the turn of the year and yet despite that, they still have a realistic chance of reaching the play-offs.

That chance however could be shattered with anything other than a win over Huddersfield Town on Friday evening. The Terriers haven’t lost in the league since the end of November though were beaten for the first time since that date when Nottingham Forest knocked them out of the FA Cup last Monday.

Now they’ve once again had to endure that feeling of defeat, it could prove the perfect time for Steve Bruce to put his men up against the team currently sat in third place.

West Brom will have to give Alex Mowatt a late fitness test ahead of the game after it was revealed the midfielder has been struggling with a bit of a muscle injury this week.

If Mowatt is unable to make it, Jayson Molumby is expected to be given the nod.

Daryl Dike is back in full training which is a huge result for Albion but the Huddersfield game will come far too soon for his comeback appearance.

The Terriers have no fresh injury concerns following their exit from the FA Cup at the hands of Nottingham Forest though Carlos Corberan is expected to shake the starting eleven up for this one.

Historically, Huddersfield have got the better of Albion over the years picking up 31 wins to West Brom’s 26 and 17 draws.

The two haven’t tied a game since 2001, a 1-1 draw in the April in a season which saw the Baggies miss out on promotion to the Premier League after losing to Bolton Wanderers in the play-offs.

Huddersfield game out on top in the reverse fixture back in November, too. An early goal from Danel Sinani gave the Terriers a 1-0 win on a day which saw Jake Livermore pick up his first red card of the season.
