Carlos Corberan axes ‘underperformer’ while injuries prompt several other changes - West Brom predicted XI vs Cardiff City

Here’s how we predict West Bromwich Albion to line up against Cardiff City in the Sky Bet Championship.

West Bromwich Albion return to The Hawthorns on Tuesday evening to play host to Cardiff City in the Sky Bet Championship.

Carlos Corberan's men come into this one a little shaken up after conceding late on to draw 2-2 at Ipswich Town on the weekend. USA international striker Daryl Dike suffered what appeared to be another serious Achilles tendon injury during that clash, likely ruling him out for the remainder of the season.

It goes down as a decent point as Ipswich were dominant and deserved something from the game, but the manner of the draw was brutal. Albion have an almost immediate opportunity to respond, though, as a struggling Cardiff side comes to town.

The Bluebirds have won just one of their last five fixtures in all competitions and there have been some heavy defeats, including a 4-0 thumping at Sheffield Wednesday in the Emirates FA Cup. Leeds United dispatched Cardiff 3-0 just a week later, while the last outing ended 2-0 to Preston North End.

West Brom will take confidence from Tuesday's opponents poor form but care must be taken to avoid complacency. A win would move the Baggies up to five points clear in the top six depending on results elsewhere, but a draw or defeat would allow fellow play-off chasers to close the gap.

Corberan has quite the selection headache this midweek, especially in defence, as Kyle Bartley was forced off at Ipswich with a calf issue. Semi Ajayi played in the Africa Cup of Nations final on Sunday, meaning this game will likely come too soon. There are also dilemmas in attack with players in mixed form.

With those decisions considered, here's the Albion lineup we predict will be named against Cardiff.
