West Bromwich Albion are back in Sky Bet Championship action on Tuesday evening as they take on an in-form Blackpool side at the Hawthorns. The Tangerines have won three of their last five games and will be looking to gain further momentum against the Baggies, who themselves have struggled of late.

Losing 2-0 to Sheffield United in their last outing and sitting rock bottom of the league standings, West Brom haven’t exactly given new manager Carlos Corberan the best platform to build from. The Spaniard takes charge of his second game in the space of four days and will be seeking an instant response.

With a dire two wins in 17 fixtures, the Baggies simply haven’t been good enough this campaign. Corberan will - having had a few more training sessions with his new players - likely start to experiment away from the three-at-the-back formation left over by previous head coach Steve Bruce.

In the first half against the Blades it seemed nothing had changed from the Bruce era, with an overreliance on floating the ball into the penalty area. Things did adjust a little in the second half, with more chance creation from the centre. Corberan could well go one step further and switch up the formation entirely.

One thing that will likely hinder him - for now at least - is Albion’s current injury list. Baggies fans will be pleased to know, however, that Blackpool have an even worse fitness situation at the moment. Without further ado, here is all the latest team news ahead of kick-off.

What is the team news ahead of West Brom vs Blackpool?

Corberan faces no fresh injury concerns and had some promising fitness updates to deliver ahead of Tuesday’s clash. The new head coach revealed trio Daryl Dike, Semi Ajayi and Kean Bryan are now all taking the “final step” in their recoveries. It is hoped they will all be involved in some capacity before the World Cup.

This could potentially see all three players, who could all play a key role in experimenting with a fresh system, have a return date around mid-November. Given the Baggies’ struggles at both ends of the field recently, this will be very good reading for Albion supporters.

Blackpool, meanwhile, will definitely be without six players. Central midfielder Liam Bridcutt and versatile attacker Keshi Anderson will both sit out but have given a potential return date of Saturday. They could face Luton Town, but won’t play against West Brom, manager Michael Appleton confirmed.

Midfielder Kevin Stewart is sidelined until the new year following surgery on his metatarsal, whereas right-back Jordan Lawrence-Gabriel has a similar fate with a knee injury. Forward Jake Beesley and Manchester City loanee Lewis Fiorini are both ruled out.
