West Brom v Plymouth Argyle injury news as 10 out and two doubts - gallery

Latest injury and team news ahead of the EFL Championship clash between West Brom and Plymouth Argle at The Hawthorns’.

West Brom are back in EFL Championship action following the international break as they host newly promoted Plymouth Argyle at The Hawthorn’s.

The Baggies suffered a 3-1 defeat to Birmingham City in the West Midlands Derby in their last fixture, and will want to put that disappointment behind them. Unfortunately when it rains it pours, and during the defeat at St Andrew’s, news broke that goal scorer John Swift suffered an injury, and will be out for the forseeable future. West Brom have had their fair share of injury problems this season, and a lot of it has come on the front line.

Carlos Corberan will now have to think how he will line his team up and given the lack of attacking reinforcements, is there a possibility that several members of the under-21’s squad could be included?

Saturday’s opponents Plymouth also suffered a defeat before the international break. Wolves loanee Luke Cundle scored against his former club Swansea City, but the Welsh side claimed victory at Home Park, and so the Pilgrims are also keen to get back to winning ways.

It’s a busy period from now until the next international break with several midweek fixtures. West Brom have QPR at home on Tuesday night, meanwhile Plymouth are away a day later to Sheffield Wednesday, and so both managers will have the triple-game week in mind when choosing their starting 11s. Both teams have had players away on international duty too, and so that is another thing to consider.
