West Brom are continuing their preparations for the upcoming 2024/25 Championship season.
The Baggies saw more than a dozen senior and academy players depart last month and now they are trying to replace them. Ousmane Diakite and Torbjorn Heggem joined from TSV Hartberg and IF Brommapojkarna respectively, before the arrivals of Muhamed Diomande and Joe Wildsmith from Wolves and Derby County were confirmed earlier this week.
At the end of June, WBA decided to sell Zac Ashworth to Blackpool for an undisclosed fee, and this week sent Josh Griffiths out on loan to Bristol Rovers for the season after playing the role as understudy to Alex Palmer last term.
There's still a lot of business to be done with some players future up in the air. Okay Yokuslu was recently at EURO 2024 with Turkey, and he's been linked with a move back to his homeland, as well as to a Championship rival. Besiktas looked to be strong contenders to sign him but terms couldn't be agreed and now Hull City seems a possible destination.
Centre-back Cedric Kipre was absent from training as his contract expired at the end of June, and so he is free to talk to and train with other clubs. He had interest from some of Europe's top leagues and it's looking unlikely that he will return to the Hawthorns.
It was also confirmed that Grady Diangana will be side lined for the next few weeks with an injury. The DR Congo international is expected to miss the next few weeks of pre-season but should return before the season opener against QPR.
In the meantime, Carlos Corberan and the players are just getting on with things. More signings should be lined up, but first he'll run the rule over the likes of Caleb Taylor, Karlan Grant and Mo Faal who have returned from their loans.
The nature of a transfer in football is unpredictable, but thanks to Bonus Code Bets, they've gone on to Football Manager 2024 and predicted the outcome of the window. Flick through to see which players sign and who departs.
