West Brom’s priority for the January transfer window has been revealed, and there could be a bit of a reshuffle.

It has been claimed that West Brom could terminate the loans of Lewis Dobbin and Uros Racic during the January transfer window.

EyaWeGew, a transfer insider for the Baggies, is reporting that WBA is ‘looking at options’ to send them back to their parent clubs. When the window opens, the priority is to sign another striker to take the burden off Josh Maja.

Maja is West Brom’s top scorer this season with 10 goals. He’s been ever-present but has gone five games without scoring. Recruiting another striker would provide him with competition for a place in the starting eleven and a different option.

Carlos Corberan has been working with limited forward options. Other than Maja, the alternatives to him are John Swift, Jed Wallace, Karlan Grant, Tom Fellows, and Devante Cole. Daryl Dike was due to return to action before he suffered a setback from his Achilles injury.

Dobbin arrived at the Hawthorns at the start of August, just weeks after completing a £10m move to Aston Villa from Everton. The 21-year-old has played 16 times in all competitions but he’s made just one league start.

As for Racic, he arrived towards the end of August on a season-long loan from US Sassuolo. He’s appeared 17 times this term, and that’s been split between eight starts and nine substitute appearances.

He has been met by the task of trying to break up the solid partnership between Alex Mowatt and Jayson Molumby. Callum Styles is also an option in the centre of the park, but he’s been deployed as a defender over the last few weeks.

In another post, according to DOOD (@EyaWeGew), Sassuolo pushed West Brom to have an agreement in place to sign Racic on a permanent deal for a fee of around £2m to £3m.

Championship clubs have a restriction of five loans in a match day squad, but West Brom are nowhere near that with only slots filled. There's also space to sign a player when the window opens as they only submitted 24 names in their permitted 25-man squad list.
