West Brom had a fairly satisfactory summer transfer window despite having to work within the rules of the EFL.

When it came to transfer windows and deadline day, Baggies supporters would accept that they wouldn't do much. WBA until the arrival of Shilen Patel, had to move players on to keep the club afloat, but this summer, despite being placed under an EFL-imposed business plan, there perhaps hasn't been a better summer for doing deals.

Several of the club's high earners were moved off the books, with the average age of the squad being brought down as well. Brandon Thomas-Asante, last season's top scorer departed for Coventry City, whilst Okay Yokuslu sealed a return back to Turkey with Trabzonspor.

Carlos Corberan was never able to do much but since the end of June, he's been able to recruit players with Championship experience, as well as some from abroad. A fee was paid for Norwegian centre-back Torbjorn Heggem whilst Ousmane Diakite, Joe Wildsmith and Devante Cole all arrived on free transfers. One of the most surprising bits of business was the loan signing of Lewis Dobbin, who had only joined Aston Villa a couple of weeks ago from Everton for £10m.

The best was saved until last as on the final day of the window, Mikey Johnston after spending the summer at Celtic, returned for £3m. Burnley and Sheffield United were heavily linked with him but he opted for a return to the Hawthorns. Johnston wasn't the only player who returned, as Mason Holgate joined on a season-long loan from Everton, having been at the club before during the 2018/19 season.

Most importantly, West Brom were able to fend off interest from Ipswich Town and Southampton, who both had bids rejected for Tom Fellows. The two Premier League boys valued him at around £10m and £12m. It’s interesting to see how other clubs view West Brom’s players and so with the transfer window shut, we take a look at TransferMarkt to see how each member of their first-team squad are valued.
