Johnston competition

West Brom could face competition over a permanent deal involving loan star Mikey Johnston. Johnston impressed with the Baggies in the second half of last season, and he is likely to be sold by the Bhoys this summer, according to the Daily Record.

The outlet report that Celtic are likely to receive a number of bids for the 25-year-old this summer, suggesting West Brom will face competition should they move to make the deal permanent.

Wober on Leeds future

Leeds United loan exile Max Wober has been speaking about his future at Elland Road amid talk of a permanent stay at Borussia Monchengladbach. He told Kleine Zeitung: "My aim was to answer the club question before the Euros. But it is what it is now. I told my manager that he doesn't need to call me or tell me anything in the next four weeks. I want to play in the Euros now. After that we'll see where it goes.

You're in contact with the manager all the time, you automatically start thinking about it, start looking for an apartment, organize the move and talk to family and girlfriend about it. I just want to block it out and not worry about it. It will also depend on what they [Leeds] say. But they will probably have to digest this play-off defeat for a week or two. We will see how they want to position themselves and whether I am in their plans or not."

Ahead of jetting off to Euro 2024 with Austria, Wober added: "The Euro is a career highlight for me. My first international match and my first Champions League game will only be topped by the European Championship. If I get to play, I want to enjoy it 100 percent."

Sunderland concern

Sunderland have missed out on managerial target Will Still, and that is concerning, according to EFL pundit Ryan Dilks. Speaking on the Second Tier Podcast, Dilks said of Sunderland: “This is a club who’ve made it quite clear that they’d like to get back to the Premier League as soon as possible. “They’ve shown plenty of ambition in different ways ever since they came back to the Championship, really. But I’m just looking at this, thinking, I’m not sure we’re going to see a massive turnaround over the next summer. I could be completely wrong and they do make an ambitious appointment which turns out to completely revitalise everything. But at the moment, my vibe level with Sunderland is just so low that I struggle to get massively excited.”
