Despite the ongoing injury crisis, West Bromwich Albion still managed to claw their way back into the playoff reckoning with Saturday’s victory over Stoke City. The win came as a surprise, providing the Baggies their first three points on the road since January 14, and it was just the third time they came from behind to win under Carlos Corberan.
Albion’s side showed fight and character, embodied by midfielder Jayson Molumby who scored twice in 10 minutes to swing the game in their favour. Three points propelled the Baggies back into the Championship top-six race, with just three points separating them from Blackburn Rovers in the final play-off spot.
Corberan’s West Brom are on their travels again on Tuesday, as they face relegation-threatened Blackpool. The Tangerines are on the cusp of League One return despite their win over Wigan Athletic last weekend. Under the stewardship of interim boss Stephen Dobbie, they picked up a 1-0 victory over the Latics thanks to a second-minute strike from forward Jerry Yates.
Albion possess a decent record when facing the hosts and are unbeaten in their last three Championship meetings against the Seasiders. However, with every point so pivotal for both sides fighting at either end of the table, the Baggies could struggle when they head to Bloomfield Road.
Here’s what we think Corberan might pick as his starting XI on Tuesday night.
