Two changes as ‘midfield engine’ comes in - West Brom predicted line-up vs Birmingham City - gallery

Here’s how we think West Brom will line up against Birmingham City for their West Midlands’ Derby clash at St Andrew’s on Friday night.

West Brom have a West Midlands Derby to look forward to as they face Birmingham City at St Andrew’s in the EFL Championship on Friday night.

The Baggies have sold out their allocation of 2,000 tickets, and there will be a sold-out crowd of over 20,00 in front of the Sky Sports television cameras.

Both sides were victorious in midweek, with West Brom defeating Sheffield Wednesday 1-0 at The Hawthorn’s. John Swift scored the only goal of the game and was one of their leading players including Alex Mowatt, who has a new lease of life at the club.

As for injury news, Corberan revealed earlier this week that Brighton & Hove Albion loanee Jeremy Sarmiento would be out for up to a month. He suffered a quadricep injury, and as a result will now be missing until at least the next international break.

Semi Ajayi was named in the match-day squad on Tuesday having missed the 4-0 win against Preston North End, and could come into consideration as one of the changes Corberan could make.

It’s only been three days since their last match, and there has been minimal recovery time so does Corberan make the changes to freshen things up, or stick with what he’s got? It’s the final game until the international break, so any players not called up for their countries could be afforded a rest after Friday’s fixture.

Flick through the pages to see what we think Carlos Corberan could go with when the teams are announced come 7.00 pm on Friday. We’ve started with the goalkeeper and worked our way up through the 3-4-2-1 formation, as well as including substitutes. Brief reasons are given for their inclusion too.
