West Bromwich Albion’s first home league game of the season saw them share the spoils in a 0-0 draw against Leeds United. The Baggies remain unbeaten in the league, albeit only for two games, to bounce back from the midweek Carabao Cup defeat against Fleetwood Town.
Carlos Corberan came up against his former club in a Leeds side with clear focus on defensive stability, having conceded six goals in their first two games. Albion enjoyed the majority of first-half possession but created little, with defender Kyle Bartley unable to react quickly from a set-piece in what would have been the home side’s only major chance.
A cagey affair continued into the second-half with Karlan Grant squandering West Brom’s biggest chance just on the hour mark, slashing his effort high and wide from an angle after a Leeds mistake opened up space. Corberan brought Jed Wallace and Grady Diangana on for their first appearances of the season but the visitors evidently settled for a point and the game finished goalless.
