West Brom next manager odds: Steve Bruce in ‘advanced negotiations,’ Slaven Bilic, Wayne Rooney in running

Manager hunt at the Hawthorns? Not another one.

West Brom are on the hunt for a new manager again after Valerien Ismael was sacked on Wednesday afternoon, just seven months into his four-year-contract.

The former Barnsley Head Coach currently has the Baggies placed fifth in the Championship but after a torrid recent run which includes just four wins in 15 games, the Albion hierarchy felt the only choice was to move on.

Move on is exactly what they seem to be doing, and fast.

Sky Sports are reporting that former Newcastle United boss Steve Bruce is in ‘advanced negotiations’ to take over - a move which will no doubt leave the fanbase split.

However, Bruce isn’t the one and only option because as always with these things - there are plenty of names already on the table including a potential reunion with an old face in Slaven Bilic.

With the Baggies still sat in a healthy position in the midst of the Championship play-off places, it’s an appointment that needs to be right.

The club hav every possibility of making an instant return to the Premier League which of course makes the next hire hold a high amount of significance.

As much as it’s important to get a deal done early, it’s an even bigger priority to not make any rash decisions and jeopardise what could still very much be a promotion come May for Albion.

Here’s the current list of manager’s in the running for the gig.
