West Brom have a big decision to make on who to appoint as their new manager. The Baggies sacked Steve Bruce earlier this week after their poor start to the new Championship season.

They find themselves in the relegation zone after just one win this term and need someone to come in and steady the ship. Here is a look at various names in the frame...

Carlos Corberan

West Brom are reportedly keen to speak to the Spaniard about their managerial vacancy. He is available following his exit from Greek club Olympiacos recently and will be weighing up his next move in the game.

The former Leeds United coach guided Huddersfield Town to the play-offs in the last campaign. According to BBC Sport, he is now one of the ‘leading candidates’ for the Hawthorns hotseat.

Sean Dyche

He seems an ideal choice and is unattached following his departure from Burnley last term. The ex-Watford boss knows what it takes to get promoted to the Premier League and is vastly experienced.

According to James Nursey, he is holding out for a Premier League job at the moment. Can West Brom persuade him to drop back into the Championship?

Chris Wilder

Wilder was dismissed by Middlesbrough earlier this month after their dismal opening couple of months to the new season. He lasted just under a year at the Riverside Stadium.

Nevertheless, he did an impressive job with previous club Sheffield United and has a point to prove now. According to a report by The Mirror, he will be spoken to by the Baggies.

Roy Keane

The former Manchester United midfielder, who has managed Sunderland and Ipswich Town in the past, was one of the early favourites. However, he has since seemingly ruled himself out on Sky Sports.

Scott Parker

Football League World reported earlier this week that Parker was being considered by the hierarchy. He was sacked by AFC Bournemouth in late August after their 9-0 loss to Liverpool.

He has been promoted to the top flight twice before as a manager, once with the Cherries and once with Fulham. FootMercato claimed he was a target for OGC Nice in September.

Gary Rowett

The former Birmingham City man has been linked with a switch to the Baggies over the past 24 hours. He is currently in charge of fellow second tier side Millwall.

However, according to reporter Simon Stone on Twitter, he is not in line for the job. The 48-year-old has been in charge at The Den since 2019.

Leam Richardson

His name has cropped up on social media but he has been quick to pour cold water on the speculation. He has done a decent job in charge of Wigan Athletic and guided them to promotion to the Championship last season.

As per a report by Wigan Today, when asked about the whether the rumours were distracting, he said: “You know me as a person, what do you think? Thank you very much.”

Russell Martin

Like Richardson, Swansea City’s Martin has also insisted he is happy where he is. He likes to operate a possession-based style of football and his side have made a strong start to the current campaign.

The ex-MK Dons head coach has said, as per Wales Online: “We’re really happy here. I have said that all the way along. I wouldn’t say that if we didn’t feel that. Our families are so settled here. We love the staff we are working with, and the group of players.”

Other names

As per SkyBet, names such as Jonathan Woodgate, Rob Edwards, Liam Rosenior and Michael Carrick are currently tipped as outsiders for the role (as of 15:00, 13.10.22). They are all available and are options for the club if they are seeking a more left-field approach.
