West Bromwich Albion manager Valerien Ismael has dropped a telling hint about the future of striker Jordan Hugill and it appears that it may be away from the Hawthorns.

Rumours have picked up over the last few days about Norwich City potentially recalling Hugill following the signing of American forward Daryl Dike and Ismael explained that he and his staff have had a sit down chat with the on loan Canaries man this week to give him some ‘clarity’ on his future in the Black Country.

“We’ve had a chat with Jordan earlier this week,” Ismael explained.

“I told him my my opinion, my vision and he got clarity.

“It’s not about only Jordan, I’ve been here now with my staff for six months.

“We’ve given a chance to everyone, we have an overview about the club and the players.

“We know what we want to see and at some point it’s all about taking a decision.

“Sometimes when you make a decision, it could be painful for people but it’s important to take the decision to move forward and to improve.

“We have to make sure we do the right thing for the club because we want to see West Brom have the success on the short term and long term and at some point we need to take a decision for the club.”

When pushed on whether or not Baggies fans can expect Hugill to stay with the club until the end of the season, Ismael went on to add that ‘anything can happen.’

Reading between the quite visible lines - it looks as though his future in West Bromwich could well be coming to an end.

“I think anything can happen until the 31st January,” the boss said.

“As I say my expecation now is something happens in outgoings and we will see.”
