West Brom will be aiming to put their defeat to Burnley behind them when they take on Bristol City in their FA Cup fourth-round tie. They face the Robins at Ashton Gate on Saturday after beating non-league outfit Chesterfield following a replay in the third round.

Baggies boss Carlos Corberan has enjoyed a fruitful start to life at The Hawthorns, only losing three of his competitive games in charge. Fresh off the back of a 2-1 loss to Burnley at Turf Moor last Friday night, Albion will put an extra impetus on this game to ensure they bounce back from that defeat.

Meanwhile, Bristol, who are six games unbeaten in all competitions. Progressed through to the fourth round after beating Swansea City 2-1 in their third-round replay. Goals from Mark Sykes and Sam Bell secured a win for the Robins.

Nigel Pearson’s side sit seven places below Albion in 17th place, with concerns of relegation still high amongst the Ashton Gate faithful. But that gap could well be bridged on Saturday, as Albion have fresh injury concerns to worry about.

What is the injury news ahead of West Brom’s trip to Bristol City?

Albion are without winger Matt Phillips, who is confirmed to be out for the next three to four months. The Scotsman picked up a quadriceps injury after coming on as a second-half substitute in the replay victory over Chesterfield and was initially feared to be out for up to 12 weeks. However, the damage is worse than first feared, with the 31-year-old likely to miss the rest of the season with this injury.

They will also have midfielder John Swift missing for the cup tie, with the former Reading man picking up an ankle injury in training on Wednesday. The 27-year-old is likely to be replaced by Tom Rogic who has shown good form in the cup so far, scoring once in the two matches. Corberan is hopeful that Swift will return for next Friday’s clash with Coventry City.

Long-term absentees Kean Bryan and Kenneth Zohore remain out of action, with neither featuring so far this season. Both of their contracts expire in the summer and it is unlikely that the club will exercise their option to renew their deals.

However, in some good news for Albion fans, Kyle Bartley will step up his road to recovery by playing a part for the under-21’s when they take on Aston Villa in a PL2 clash on Friday night. The defender has been missing since the resumption of league action post-World Cup break with a quadriceps injury.

As for Bristol, Andreas Weimann is angling for a return in the cup tie after being out with a knock since the initial third-round tie against Swansea. Whilst fellow striker Tommy Conway will miss out after Pearson confirmed that he will be out for between six and 10 weeks.

Antoine Semenyo will not feature after being close to completing his move to Bournemouth subject to a medical in a deal worth £9 million, plus add-ons.
