West Brom ‘hold talks’ over signing Newcastle United striker Dwight Gayle

West Bromwich Albion have reportedly held talks with Newcastle United over signing Dwight Gayle.
According to the Northern Echo, the 32-year-old will be leaving Newcastle this summer, and while Watford, Middlesbrough and West Brom have all held discussions with the Magpies, none have been able to put together a suitable financial package to sign the forward.

Hide AdThe report states that Gayle is currently training away from Newcastle’s first-team group.
Gayle joined joined the Baggies on a season-long loan deal from Newcastle in 2018 after they were relegated from the Premier League. He ended the season with 23 league goals and was named as the club’s Supporter’s Player of the Season as they just missed out on promotion.
Birmingham have also shown an interest in signing Gayle this summer. That’s according to Daily Mail’s North East football correspondent, Craig Hope, who claims Watford are als in the mix to sign the forward.
