West Brom headlines: Update on whether new signings will play, injury latest & free agent linked

West Brom return to the action on Saturday away at Norwich City.

The Baggies have made a slow start to the new Championship campaign and are way below where they want to be.

They have won just once in their opening nine games and are sat in 20th place.

Free agent linked

Despite signing Tom Rogic and Erik Pieters this week, West Brom have been linked with yet another free agent addition.

According to Football League World, they are keen on Fabian Delph, who remains available following his departure from Everton in late June.

However, the likes of Rangers, Sheffield United and Middlesbrough have been credited with an interest too.

Will the new signings play?

Martin Kelly is expected to be in the squad for the trip to Carrow Road, as is Pieters after he made his debut against Birmingham, as per a report by the Express and Star.

However, the clash in East Anglia may come too soon for Rogic as he is ‘not quite ready’ yet.

Injury woes ahead of Norwich game

The Express and Star have also added that defender Kyle Bartley will miss the match against Dean Smith’s side with a hamstring strain.

Winger Grady Diangana has been described as ‘50-50’ and will be assessed to see how he is.

England call-up for young stopper

Josh Griffiths, who is currently out on loan with League One side Portsmouth, has been called up for England U21s.

He was given the green light to join Pompey over the summer and has been a hit with the Hampshire outfit, keeping five clean sheets.

Jeff Stelling from Sky Sports believes West Brom will lose again to Norwich.

On Super 6 he has tipped the high-flying Canaries to pick up a 1-0 win on home soil.
